Hello all. I need an F350 soon, and so, am thinking about ordering a 2018 equipped exactly as I want. I can get the exact truck I want for, lets say $65K. My question is, if I can find a 2017 still on the lot somewhere that is equipped the same, how much less should I pay? Basically, what is the savings on a similarly equipped truck that would make it smart to go ahead and take the 2017 instead of building a 2018?
Second question, were there significant improvements from 2017 to 2018 MY on the F350, or are these trucks pretty much the same?
In my area, and I've heard this is true about many other places, but there are A LOT of 2017's still on the lot. They should be willing to move them...
The order banks for 2018 are closed.
There are not any significant differences in 2017, 2018, 2019. The first major upgrade will be in 2020.
If you order a 2019 you will need to wait for a while because they will not building them until June.
Depending on where you live there should be some 2017 / 2018 left on lots but choices on options may be limited.
I do not think you will find any huge discounts unless the truck does not have popular options.

Thanks... A couple of the dealers I have spoken with claim they can still get me a 2018 built, and maybe that is because they have build slots reserved and they can still make a few changes to match the options I require.
Yes, you are correct.
If a dealer still has a allocation that is not too late to reconfigure they could change it to the truck you desire .
A good dealer would do that for you, however time is running out for that to happen. I do not know the exact date, another thread recently discussed the time line.
If that is what you want , I suggest you act soon before Ford freezes the configuration of dealer allocations.
Your member name indicates you may be from Florida. If so check out Mullinax Ford. They have some 2017 left. A quick search for 2017 F350s shows Lots of white color trucks all diesels including 1 duallie. I think that one is 8500 or 8900 off. They don’t have dealer fees and you can usually Get them to add some stuff to the deal. Free service and so on. Good luck.
I'd be driving a '17 right now if the Limited model was available then. With '19's coming quick and dealers still filled with '17's on the lot, it would sure seem to me that they would want to get rid of them and/or Ford would start adding incentives. Odd strategy Ford- all '18's are going to be collectors items with the "limited production" run. haha There was a small bump in HP/TQ from '17 to '18+. That was the biggest difference I saw between those year. '18 to '19 ditched the Sony and added Wifi capability if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks Wildcard, yes, I am in Central Florida. I looked at some of those at Mullinax, hate to be a bonehead, but, they were missing a couple of the options I had my heart set on. Thank you for the suggestion, really appreciate this forum.

check on Brandon Fords website. They have both ‘17s and 18’s similarly equipped and you can see the price difference.
I had a very successful buying experience with my 2018 ford F3 50 super duty crew cab long box.
Got the Lariat package without the sunroof.
I was able to order the 4.30 differential along with other goodies.
I did not know until other members posted that the 2018 ordering is over.
If you are a member of Costco call Costco and find out the nearest Ford dealer that is involved in the Costco auto purchasing program.Go there, see if they have a model on the lot or if they are able to get a model that you want and deal with them.
We were able to get $1000 rebate back from Ford, $200 from Costco, and paid invoice price.
Best of luck,
Harold
I purchased my 2017 250XL 6.2L 4WD standard cab in January from dealer stock, and it was marked down $6,900. $3,500 of that was various incentives from Ford. It seems most folks nowadays prefer the four door cabs, and I don't know if they were marked down any differently.

I am not sure that's true due to balance out. The final orders of a MY run are locked almost immediately. So, if a dealer has an order in, chances are it has a build week and is locked.
