Just ordered new F-350

I just placed an order for a 2019 F-350 4x4 6.L crew cab long bed last week and I have been lurking here and learning as much as I can in preparation and trying to stay sane while waiting. Just wanted to throw my hat in the ring and say Hi for now, I will mostly lurk and read, but look forward to participating where I can. Thanks for all of the knowledge and information on this forum.

So far I have had no luck tracking the order, on any of the online tools, but I'm not too worried about it yet. I was able to chat with a ford rep and they confirmed that the order is in and in processing or something like that.

Price wise, how do you think you did versus buying off the lot? I cant find what I want anywhere near me so I'm likely going to have to order my dually. Figure the dealer will not be as willing to negotiate.

I feel ordering is much better price wise.

I can't really give you a fair picture on price. I was able to get a-plan pricing. I was not able to find what I wanted locally or in a range where my dealer wanted to bring it in.

I ordered an XL but with a lot of options. I feel like the STX package is a way better bargain than going for the XLT. They have a $1000 incentive on the STX package. It just worked out better for me and I don't feel like I missed out on much.

It is a misconception that you get a better deal on a truck from inventory. A custom order is the easiest money a dealer can make. I told my dealer to give me his best price on his first offer. He said I could order any truck I wanted for $1500 under invoice. I told him we had a deal and the order was placed the following day.

I got more off by ordering. But they didn't have what I wanted on the lot.
