I have a chance to purchase a 1964 bed. I like the look of the Flareside. My cab is a "66" on a "79" 4x4 frame. Will this box fit the width? It is supposedly a 1964 bed.
I know that the bed will most likely need to be raised 3" to clear this hump. I just don't know if the width will be a major problem.
I would like it to look similar to this.

Reason: repositioned captions
I raised my bed 1" to clear the hump in the frame, I also had to cut off the rear of the frame just behind the rear spring mount. I put my '65 short bed styleside on a '79 4x4 shorty frame. I used hockey pucks over the body mounts on the bed and the cab, they are 1" thick.
Do you have a side shot of your truck? 1" pucks under cab mounts and on the bed level everything up?
Yes, when I first placed the styleside bed on it was about 2" higher than the cab.(The cab fit the '79 4x4 chassis perfectly. ) So I had to cut off the rear of the frame to clear the rear bed mount. If you remind me I can get you pix of the frame mod tonight, it is in the driveway with the bed off it right now.
swoosh, just got home and it's wet and dark out there, I snapped this, but it didn't come out to good, hopefully I'll be home in the daylight tomorrow and I'll get some shots.
