So during the day driving my 97 7.3 with the E4od my tranny shifts into overdrive fine but as soon as I turn my lights on it kicks out of overdrive and my blinkers don’t work, then if I turn my lights back off everything goes back to normal. Could this just be a ground issue or is it something more serious?? Any help would be great

Strange one. Probably not serious. Probably time consuming to fix. Grounds cause problems on older vehicles. Could have to do with the multi function switch.
Look for the lights grounding through the brake light/signal circuit. Spurious ground. Look at any aftermarket installations or modifications secondly.
I tried to come up with a gremlin joke but came up blank.
I recommend looking at the brake light bulbs. If a filament has shorted from one to another in the dual filament bulb it can cause strange problems like this.
