Tic tic from Auto hub

vehicle is 2010 F250.
When I engage 4WD via the dash switch and then engage the ‘Lock’ on the hubs I get a single clicking sound on every rotation of the wheel. I’m still getting 4WD engagement.
When I rotate the hub to ‘Auto’ the noise goes away.
is this a symptom of a faulty hub?

I don’t get any clicking sounds from my 2011 hubs when either manually or automatically locked, so I’d say it needs cleaning or greasing, especially if it didn’t used to do it
