I purchased this truck about a year ago for a pretty good deal, ended up putting a short block in it. None the less it always had a slow reverse engagement and a slow 3 to 5 shift. I installed an upgraded D solenoid, new bypass filter, 6.4 pan and filter w/ fresh Mercon SP fluid. No change, I just figured the direct drive clutch was wore and see how far it would get me. Pan was pretty clean. Now last summer it happened once and more recently, I have what feels like a slip in reverse, but intermittently. I checked the fluid and its very clean and not burnt. I installed a pressure gauge in the pressure port on the drivers side and can see why I have a delayed engagement, I just don't know why. In the video you can see at 0:03 when I shift into reverse that the pressure drops way low and momentarily builds to 100psi. Once its at 100 psi its engaged and builds pressure as the ATSG charts shows it should. Is this a EPC problem? Or a valve body plug leaking? Or simply something wrong internally?
