Anyone have luck with a 2010 explorer EB edition finding the keycode , I tried with a mirror looking on back of fuse block , I do see a sticker on there but no 5 digit code. I really need to find this with out having to go pay ford to pull it. Anyone?
A friend or shop with a professional scan tool should be able to pull the code as well. If you received an owner's manual with your Explorer you could go through the relevant sections to see if maybe the previous owner wrote down the code or maybe the little card/tag that gets delivered with the vehicle is in the owner's manual folio.
I don't recall if the Smart Junction Box is piggyback with the interior fuse panel on the 2010 or if it's located elsewhere, but my recall is the Smart Junction Box is the box that controls the remote keyless entry and therefore the module that should have the 5 digit code sticker affixed to it.
Per the factory service manual, the remote keyless entry function is controlled by the SJB. It is tucked up under the dash on the driver's side, above the parking brake pedal assembly. It looks like you might be able to get a different view if you remove the left trim panel on the side of the dash, accessible with the driver's door open. You could also try removing the headlight switch trim bezel as one of the SJB mounting screws is accessed from behind there.
