I just installed the Backflip Revolver X4 and absolutely love it. It's an aluminum roll up cover with a matte finish. It rolls up like a soft cover, but obviously is larger diameter when fully rolled up. It is heavy duty and offers nice security.
I used the chat to place order and got 100 off for my revolver x4 no tax and no shipping cost to CA
I am looking for a rolling cover for my 450. I really like the American Work Cover with the tool box. Does anyone know if they make it electrically actuated to remote open/ close the bed cover like the other manufacturers? The tool box is a big selling point.
Awesome pics! Yes this cover is awesome. I ordered direct from Backflip. The first delivery came in and the rails were beat up pretty good from shipping. They sent out more rails as quickly as they possibly could. My only dislike (if i did the install correct) is the way the cover straps when it is rolled up. I installed the buckle hardware under the side rail, so the strap comes up at an angle over the cover and clicks in place. I would much rather the hardware mount under the front of the bed than on the side rail. I am going to look into that.

I am not sure what price you got, but I ordered direct from backflip and they matched the lowest price I got from toneau factory direct and that was $880 shipped to my door in NY.

I've had a TruckCoversUSA Work cover on my 2010 Tundra and 2017 F150, with Yakima rack rails installed, so I could use over-the-bed bike racks. I've also had an Ultra Groove metal.
Materials---the TCUSA is all metal, every where. The UG used a plastic canister and plastic side rails. Probably doesn't make a difference, but the TCUSA certainly felt more robust. Strap---both use nylon webbing. The TCUSA is reminiscent of seat belt material while the UG is reminiscent of a cheap dog leash, and snags on anything with an exposed point. Canister---TCUSA's canister is significantly smaller. Additionally, the TCUSA retracts farther into the canister. The UG canister takes up more space and cover itself sticks out farther, eating in to more cargo room. If I were hauling a dirtbike, I would be confident in strapping the font wheel against, the TCUSA canister. With the UG canister, the front wheel would be resting on the exposed portion of the cover and it would never stabilize and would damage the cover. Operation---TCUSA was more freely moving in the rails and would quickly open (one time so quickly that it popped the lock cover off). UG needed help some times to full open. They both can be unlocked to slide back, but the UG is tricky to get the latch to reset if you want it to catch one or two detents in....you have to open it all the way then pull it back forward. Speaking of pulling it forward, the UG can only be closed from the bed end using the strap. The TCUSA has a lip that points skyward giving you a "handle" pull on if you are at the side of the truck or the back of the truck and the strap isn't withing reach. Capacity---not sure what the capacity of the UG is, but I believe the TCUSA was rated around 500lbs. I have walked all over it, tailgate up and tailgate down. Even if the UG was rated the same, the aforementioned lip in the "operation" bullet above is missing from the UG and it loses that backbone of support. I would be hesitant to stand on it with tailgate open. Aesthetics---TCUSA is gloss and the yakima rails are an add on it. It doesn't appear quite as refined as the matte UG. The UG is also lower profile. Installation---the UG was much easier and faster, but also seemed less secure. There were a couple of times that I slammed the cover and the whole cover shifted towards the tailgate. TCUSA took probably twice as long AND requires 1" holes for the drain tubes to pass through the stake pocket and body plugs in the bed. While it doesn't feel good to cut those holes, the UG hoses are tiny, and much easier to clog....dust, dirt, or leaves that settle on the bed can easily find their way under the canister cap when wind is swirling over the cab (just like loose items find their way to the front of the bed). The UG cap is two screws to remove it to clean the canister, while the TCUSA is four plastic caps and 4 screws. Cost---TCUSA is more dollar bills.
As an alternative, I am really warming up to a hard roll up tonneau cover. They definitely have some superlatives when compared to a retractable tonneau:
Maintenance---on all of my retractable covers, the sliding rails needed occasional cleaning and lubrication and the canisters needed cleaning. Installation----appears to be much easier, w/o the need to drill holes in the bed for drain tubes Removal---the Gator and Truxedo versions are completely removeable with two quick clips Security---assuming you have a locking tailgate, these, especially the Bak seem secure enough. A theif would have to find their way in through the aluminum slats to gain access to the bed. Use---one handed operation, and the strap is never out of reach Visibility---they claim that these roll up no higher than your seat head rests. From the driver's seat, if you look in your rear view mirror, the tailgate interrupts more vision than the head rests, so visibility shouldn't be an issue Bed Use---allows more loading height in the bed than a canister will permit Cost---half the price of a retractable
I've always been a "buy nice or buy twice" kind of guy, but I am leaning towards these might be a better solution than retractables....
Another vote for American Roll Cover. They claim to have the smallest canister. I also have the Yakima tracks to put a bike rack over the closed cover. I didn't install the drain tubes and there are only ever a few drops in the bed after a car wash.
I went with Roll-N-Lock due to their cargo management divider that integrates with the cover. I can also say they have pretty good customer service as well. I ordered my cover and divider from Amazon... and the canister cover was delivered damaged, and the divider parts bag had opened up during shipping and many of the parts were gone.
I sent Roll-N-Lock pictures of the damage in the box... and they sent me a new canister cover and parts bags for both, no questions asked.
