Since I completed my truck rebuild, my TS chip hasn't been working right. I have a TDE0 PCM that the chip is in. The tuner will not work sometimes, then other times I only have high idle and maybe my 50hp setting. Other times it doesn't work at all, sometimes even working at the beginning of the drive then not at the end. Could the PCM be bad? I have been switching it out with an unchipped TDE1 and it runs and shifts like a dream. The TDE0 also seems to not be able to hold a steady idle, almost like the ICP is going bad but no issues with idling on the TDE1. The chip was tuned by power hungry performance, and all the tunes worked before I took it apart. Can anyone offer any insight? Disclaimer: someone came in and cut my PCM harness under the hood while I was doing the swap so half the wires are soldered together. TIA
Will the chip work on the TDE1? If the truck runs fine with the other PCM your harness is probably ok. Either the connection between the chip and PCM is bad or the chip itself is acting up. You could just pull the chip off the TDEO and see how it does. If the truck drives fine then you can at least narrow it down to the chip
I haven't chipped the TDE1 yet because it has never been chipped and I wanted to keep it unmolested. Last time I pulled the chip out and ran the TDE0 by itself, the truck couldn't get out of its own way, almost like I had unplugged the MAP sensor.
