Steering pump rebuild...quick question
So, after replacing both hoses on the F350, it turns out the reservoir to pump seal is kaput also! Yep, I should have rebuilt it when I had it open. I do not have hydroboost and came with a bed, the steering pump looks like the same CII guy that is on my '88. In any event, I found two kits that could work but one has a 'Saginaw Pump Bushing' included.
Well, I know damned well I do not have a Sag pump on there, yet is that bushing needed to reassemble the thing?
I called and left a message with Gates, I hope I hear back.

Gates did not call back, does not say much for their customer service.
Edelmann picked up the horn and was super helpful. The 'saginaw housing bushing' is actually an oversize for the pump shaft if needed. So for the extra $1.50 or so, I am ordering it. The rest of the seal kit is identical. 8526 does not have it and the 8527 DOES include it.

BUMP.
Kit showed and no more leaky CII pump! It had all seals needed and were correct size. I really could have just replaced the reservoir seal and high pressure outlet o-rings and called it a day. I was able to R&R the pulley and pump without removing the fan, shroud, brackets, etc.
It was about $11 shipped from Rockauto, needed some fresh PS oil to flush it, and Miller Lite. I had already replaced the high and low hoses as well as installed a compact Magnefine inline filter.
