numberdummy I don't know what post three has to do with anything really. and I know you told me that post six, I also never disagreed with you. My grandparents either went up to Seattle to pick it up or that was a different one they had (they had a few with similar options like color and drive train).

Sorry, it was post #4. JEFFFAFA asked you to look on your trucks Warranty Plate where the wheelbase is listed.
Ya I decoded it a couple days ago. It also has the light duty dana 44. And the truck is a complete base model except it has 4wd. The vin plate says it has a gvw of 6800 pounds not 5200 pounds, but I know it can haul/tow more.

The GVW aka GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight [Rating]) is not the weight of the truck.
It's based on what weight the truck can safely carry once the weight of the truck, the weight of the driver, any passengers and cargo is deducted from the GVW(R).

Back then, most people that towed travel trailers used full sized station wagons, and to a lesser degree...IHC Travel/Carry All's, Chevy Suburbans.
I have a book on the history of Airstream trailers. Very few pickups are shown, because full sized station wagons predominated.
I know what gvwr stands for. And this truck used to haul a slide in camper to Alaska and it was a little heavy for the truck. My dad had a 84 f350 dually that eventually hauled that camper in the truck and had a hard time turning corners cause the front was so light.
