Hi, I have to find and fit complete speedometer cable for my F1 with 3 speed manual. Do I need to remove the centre floor cab panel to do this, or can it be screwed on from underneath ?.
I can't say for sure with your model year of truck but think the cable goes through the firewall and the end that attaches to the transmission can be done from under the truck. Only cable coming up through the transmission cover would be for the parking brake..
Thanks for that. Sure I will get it in the end, Been reading your build pages, Wow...thats a lot of work, well done. Coming to the Rockies in the summer for a vacation ..cant wait.

I don't think so. Here is the routing for my 1950 F2 as I received it. I think the F1 is the same.

Actually could anyone else back this up. Surely if the speedometer cable enters the cab enters the cab and runs up the inside of the firewall...won't the bend at the top to meet the speedo be to tight ?. I had assumed the cable would go out through the firewall adjacent the speedometer, then run down to the gearbox through the engine bay.
Good idea to check. That picture was taken in 2011 and a lot has changed on that truck since then. And a lot happened to it before I got it. Hope that I didn't lead you astray.
