speedometer cable for 49 F1
My 49 F1 has a three speed Borg-Warner OD (flathead 8). Anybody know who,where I can find a speedo cable that will fit at each end or if anybody knows if a 49-50 cable through one of the resto parts places will fit the B-W. I would think since B-W mfg these OD's for most car makers back then that it might be standard?

I suspect that even if the stock cable has the right end it will most likely be too short since the flathead transmission is a short transmission. There are shops out there that will make a custom cable. You need to determine the required length and what ends you need for both ends. I have dealt with Texas Industrial Electric, google them. Measure carefully.

Can you shoot a picture of the trans install? That swap has been discussed many times and I even had an OD to put in mine, but I couldn't see how it would clear the brake/clutch pedal assembly. I assume major surgery on the crossmember?
I agree with Bill, you may need a longer cable, although there is plenty of slack in mine (repro stock F-1).
