I am trying to intercept power to the heating element of the mirrors to install a toggle switch. I tried to tap into GREEN w/ VIOLET at connector 270D mentioned here. This killed power to my radio whenever the switch was off. Does anyone know the actual wire to the heated mirrors on a 2004 F350? I know for sure it is fuse #9 but cannot figure out which wire is the output.
Can't help you directly, but you must have tapped the wrong wire .I pulled the fuse for heated mirrors over the summer and it didn't affect anything else... Unless my 2005 is different than yours .

The wire in the link I am referring to is wrong obviously. I believe it goes into fuse 602. I am trying to tap into the fuse 9 but I am unsure what the wire color is for the output wire.
You don’t have to find the wire to the mirrors. Just remove the mirror fuse and plug the upfitter wire into the fuse output slot. You can tell which side of the fuse holder is hot by removing the fuse, turning on the ignition, and reading both sides of the fuse holder with a meter. The dead side is the mirror output .side; look at my pdf to see how.

I did this already. I was looking to have a cleaner install.
