I’m looking to buy a 2002 F350 but it has a flutter at 2000-3000 rpm. The truck runs smooth and starts great on 9 degree day it just seems to not really wind up and that flutter starts.
The air filter looks a little dirty and I don’t know when the fuel filter was changed last.
Any ideas where to start?
Thanks
Shawn
Ok I revisited the truck on the lot it has a hole in the up pipe passenger side the fluttering sound was exhaust hitting insulation I’m going to buy the truck and make repairs dealer knocked it down $1400 from last deal.

Late to the party was going to suggest exhaust leak. Next time you post, post in the 1999-2003 7.3L section...its specific to your truck. s
