I recently as of the beginning of the year posted about having misfire issues, it ended up being compression issues. Being on a time budget we just replaced the motor and i have no problems now with misfires or anything except that my o2 sensors consistently say that they are stuck rich. While the motor was out I replaced both sensors but I'm just not sure where to begin. any ideas?
Two different types could they be mixed up.
Did you put all new boots/ plugs in --Sp546's on pre 08 engines . Misfires dump raw fuel . Raw fuel burns up cats is your exhaust black? Are your cats getting two hot .
Fuel injectors did you put new ones in ?Not remans . Dripping injectors are trouble . You can lay them out on newspaper and turn key on --no drips .
Clean your maf . Clean all cop contacts .
I replace injectors every 100k for new .
Look at mode 6 for raw misfire counts on a good reader . Plenty of homework here huh . Good luck --get back to us .
When getting both of those codes it usually means an issue with the MAF sensor. Are you sure all of the air ducts after the MAF sensor are tight with no air leaks?
Was this an exact engine swap or did you have to modify anything?
Begin by looking at the Long Term Fuel Trim tables with a Scanner to verify where they are.
If shifted rich, find out why.
The sensors (both banks) are not detecting the expected amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas,. (too rich).
You must verify before you know what and where to look for the cause.
Good luck.
Sorry to be late in response. I got new sensors and from what i could tell, they seemed to be the right ones. Prior to the motor swap I replace all the coils, boots, plugs, and injectors. Doesn't mean that they're innocent, just new. I just replaced the MAF in an attempt to cure the issue but to no avail. My exhaust is not black, but i do hear what i think are backfires potentially either before or in the cat. There is likely an excess of fuel going through (Obviously or else I wouldn't be getting these codes right?). I'll have to go somewhere to get a decent scanner. I have a bluetooth scanner from amazon, handy for little things but nothing quite like a nice scanner. I did put a K&N cold air intake on with the new motor. Is there some adjusting that needs to be done with that? From what I understood it was just a plug and play setup.
