I have a 2007 f150 with the 5.4 3v. At the first of the year I dropped in a new motor after changing spark plugs, coils, and injectors chasing a misfire issue that turned out to be bad compression. After I put in the new motor, I replaced the air filter with a cold air intake, o2 sensors and the catalytic converters. I am still throwing the p2196 and the p2198 codes. They say it’s running rich. It has black smoke, smells of gas, and has other obvious signs of running rich. When I accelerate from a start it stuffers and backfires. I also struggle to accelerate at low RPMs. Any ideas?
Have you cleaned throttle body and maf . The code is for Sensor 1 on both banks being rich . Are these OEM replacements and there are two different o2 sensors on mine input and output . How about O2 heater power .
Those injectors are listed for a 04 heritage model essentially an 03
It says its not for your 07 but amazon is quite frequently wrong on application . I assume you used new orings and lubed them with motor oil after cleaning intake holes . I am not saying they are wrong but pointing out some listing descriptions.
Complete Fuel Injector Set For Ford F-150 Heritage 04
Fuel rail pressure sensor is vacuum assisted for acceleration it goes to FPDM mounted on rear axle . That module is a frequent failure due to electrolysis from the rear alum mounting plate to the steel axle . New ones come with stand offs to prevent this . There is no regulator on fuel it is pressure on demand controlled by FPDM , there is no return line to tank . Most failures are lack of fuel and shutdown . You should inspect this unit as water enters and shorts stuff out . I am still running this in my head as the internet says its possible to have vacuum leak cause rich condition . Seems odd to me as it usually causes lean condition . I would still clean maf in case it got contamination on it . Maf looks at air volume measured and helps with the o2 sensors to adjust pulse width to injectors ,at least thats how my feeble mind sees it . So a vacuum leak lets too much air in and the maf doesn't see it so pcm doesn't up the pulse width for more fuel so its usually lean . Your many indications are definitely rich so the pcm should be reducing pulse width to injectors . Your tailpipe and 02 says its rich . Do you have code reader if not consoder 5$ torque pro app with android phone and cheap amazon bluetooth reader -its going to tell a lot .
On another tack a common problem is the routing of the hoses and wires under the rear of the intake , they tend to jam the intake runner control which also has plastic linkage that fails , very hard to get to and the routing is opposite what you would normally think . Happens a lot on intake installation .
I hope some of the others will chime in with some better ideas .
I just bought a small camera probe for my android to look at such areas from amazon . If all else fails can you use old injectors for test ,just make sure none are leaking . .
I did install a new radio which came with the torque pro app on it. I bought a cheap OBD2 Bluetooth to hook up to it. It’s great. My buddy has a program on his laptop that does a complete scan and forces things to run abnormally so it can test them, his only result was the o2 sensors being rich. Doesn’t mean something else isn’t bad but that’s all that his program said.
You need to look up your production date as the injector number changes around december 06 . 07 -08 years were change over years for some parts . Like heads /spark plugs etc .
Oh yeah its complicated with a reman engine too/year . Some good analysis guys may call for some screen shots and custom screens to narrow this down . Have your buddy test the intake runner to see if it moves etc .

Be prepared to test cats if they getting blocked it can cause rich conditions
Temperature of cats , input and output is there a 100 degree difference with a heat IR sensor gun . Long &Short term fuel trims at Idle and at 2000 rpm . Coolant temperature all this is available on torque pro . You can make a screen with all this on it . Baro pressure and cly head temp too.
You may try to run with the exhaust flange opened up to check for blocked cats .I really don't think you have a vacuum leak .
This gives you some testing . You can post freeze frame shots on here .
For once we may have lucked out in fl , Issac petered out. For 2 years we have been hit almost on the same day ,still raining everyday tho .
