I have a 2000 for ranger that starts hard. once it starts it runs good. but starts hard everytime i go to start. every once and a while going down the road the truck losses power. I have cleaned the throttle body (looked terrible). any pointers on with way to look?
You should have it scanned for codes,,,autozone will do it for free but keep in mind they use a cheap scanner,,,post scan codes here for more help,,,engine size would also be a help,,,a code scan will help instead of throwing parts at it and hoping to find the trouble
lots of possible problems,,,1 upper and lower intake gasket leak,,,2 vacume leak,,, 3 IAC is bad or dirty,,4 MAF sensor is bad or dirty,,,, check vac lines for rot cracks breaks or leaks (cigar smoke test is cheap and easy just light cigar and blow smoke threw vac lines and watch for smoke signals) ( do not inhale LOL ),,,,clean IAC and MAF sensor with good cleaner,,,,,do not touch MAF sensor electrodes with rag or fingers ,,, could be bad oxygen sensor,,,but with 2 cyclinders lean they would be low on suspect list
