Shift cable bracket
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The shift cable bracket broke off of the side of my transmission. The cast aluminum threaded piece is broken. Has this happened to anyone. Any ideas on how to reattach it or possibly a replacement brackett

Not knowing how bad it really is...pic would be useful....I'd say you could try some metal mender, it may hold the busted piece depending on how much pressure will be up against it, or you could try finding someone that can TIG weld and hopefully they can get it to reattach without warping the case. I know my son did the same thing on his 86 bronco II, the shifter linkage snapped off right at the trans housing, looked like it was going to need a whole new case, but he went with my suggestion of metal mender and it worked, it's been hanging in for over 5 years now.

Your biggest problem is the broken casting that holds the mounting bolt. If you're handy you can try and fabricate an alternate mounting method for the bracket, or get it over to a welding shop and they'll figure something out for you. Your other option is to replace the tranny with a good used one.
