Hopefully someone can help me out. I am building a 56 f100 with an 05 roush mustang supercharged motor. Also has crown vic front end and disc brake setup. Rear disc brakes also. Im looking into the wilwood super pedal setup that has the clutch and brake hang under dash setup. I was wondering if anyone has used this setup and if its as good as a power brake setup. It will save me space in the engine bay that the motor needs. But i want to make sure its going to stop the truck as good as i need also. Thanks for any help!
Your best bet for booster/master cylinder is 2005-2018 Mustang. I have used this combo before with full Crown Vic brakes and it stops like a new Shelby. You can use a modified 67-69 Mustang power brake pedal (it pivots from a 3/8" bolt, so no bushing assembly required) and a few pieces of angle iron welded up to form a pedal hanger assembly. It should mount to the same bolts that support the steering column bracket and have a 5" square plate up front made from 10 ga sheet steel. 1" angle works great to build the support. Sure wish I had taken dimensions of the last one I made for a 54 F100. I will be putting full brake system from a 2018 Mustang GT on my 56 soon and will report on the installation as it progresses. I have been designing and selling custom Ford power disc brake systems for Mustangs since 2000, but am now retired. I already have the brackets available for the 2015-2018 rear GT 13" discs for the 9" rear ends. Next design is for the 14" front discs with four piston calipers to fit Mustang II spindles. Best thing is, I bought a complete set of pull-off discs from a 2018 Mustang GT with calipers, rotors, pads, hoses, master and booster for under $500. The are new take-offs with under 10 miles and are readily available on ebay. NOT ME selling any of this, so don't think I am trying to sell anything. Just trying to inform all those that might want an inexpensive disc brake system.
You can buy the booster/master cylinder combo for under $100 on ebay. Not sure what the big companies charge for their stuff, but this is a much better deal and you will be using FORD parts that can easily be replaced if you ever need to.
