Extra batteries mean extra power when camping

In the 1980’s, we heard from our Certified Dealers that they were installing batteries underneath the hood of trucks daily. With space underneath the hood, it was common and the easiest way to get extra battery power.

Installing the HiddenPower underneath a truck bed.

As the auto industry grew and more technology was added to trucks in recent years, the space under the hood became smaller an unable to fit extra items and accessories underneath. For those who engage in outdoor recreation such as off-roading, this was bad news. How else can you get your extra battery power? This meant having to carry several batteries in your car or RV, taking up precious space that you could use for other items, not to mention the hassle of moving and installing heavy batteries. People had to accept this fate, that is until Torklift released the HiddenPower under vehicle batter mount!

The HiddenPower doesn't affect your ground clearance!

The HiddenPower Battery Mount
Its name gives it away – this battery mount is installed underneath the vehicle bed and can be used for all types of group 24, 27, and 31 twelve-volt batteries, ranging from lead acid, AGM, sealed, or gel cell.

The HiddenPower mount is completely no-drill and installs in minutes. Adding an extra battery that is tied to your truck’s electrical charging system will not only keep the extra battery charged and ready for use with little to no maintenance, but also keeps your truck battery charged. This will save you time when you have to hassle with pulling out batteries and connecting them. When you also have the HiddenPower Wiring Harness installed, it allows you to camp using battery power without draining the vehicle’s battery. With this convenience, you can use your stereo, lights and more, saving your vehicle from the wear and tear and fuel consumption associated with running your vehicle to generate power. The HiddenPower will also save you from getting stranded with a dead battery.

More features of the HiddenPower Include:
  • Add additional batteries under your truck bed that are always charged up
  • Avoid wasting fuel and leaving your truck engine running while using electrical accessories such as lights, stereos, computer, etc.
  • Power your accessories without turning your truck engine on by having them directly wired into the extra battery
  • No-drill frame mounted with quick disconnect feature for battery service
  • Kept constantly charged and RVing-ready by your RV and truck’s charging system
  • Hidden when in use with no loss of ground clearance
  • Works with group 24 to 31 batteries
  • Designed for all types of batteries: lead acid, AGM, sealed, gel cell, etc.
  • Legendary Lifetime Warranty
  • Proudly made in the USA
Kit Includes:
  • Frame mount bracket
  • Group 24 to 31 battery box
  • Installation hardware

How can I wire the battery into my truck’s electrical system?
After the battery tray is installed, you can determine the best way to wire the battery into your truck’s electrical system. To do this you will need to have the HiddenPower Wiring Harness that is sold separately. This wiring harness is what transfers the power from the battery inside the HiddenPower to your truck so you can keep your truck’s battery at full power while still using the extra battery for small electronics.

HiddenPower Wiring Harness

Once you’ve determined if you’re going to hook up the HiddenPower battery to your truck’s battery, the next thing to determine is if your truck has an ignition installed towing package or not. Below is the diagram for the wiring process for trucks with activated tow package – essentially, when you turn on your truck on, you turn on both the truck battery and if the HiddenPower is hooked up to your truck, your RV battery as well.

The diagram above shows the RV plug, also known as your truck battery/ truck tow plug power, has two cables that connect to the battery in the HiddenPower – both the positive and negative ends. If you have any questions about hooking up your truck battery to the HiddenPower – give us a call at the number below. We’re more than happy to help!

Now that your battery and the HiddenPower are connect, it’s just a matter of taking a couple minutes to install the tray for the HiddenPower and you’re good to go! The no-drill battery mounted tray Torklift designed has brought back the convenience of accessing power with your truck outdoors. Directly wiring your extra battery to your truck’s electrical system makes your life simple so you can enjoy your experience.
