it is hard for me to believe that someone would not like the new F-150, i think that it is the most well built half ton EVER. And it looks great! i might be able to understand a dodge guy not liking it, because they are just like me, i think that the new rams are gross. But a chevy guy not liking the ford is crazy, have they even looked at the truck that they are driving?

I know many of you will disagree with me here but here I go, I've seen the 2004's but never driven on, I don't like the look of it at all, but mechaniclly, sounds like a much better truck, also I like the fact that ford made the bed deeper. IMO the 92-96 and the 73-79 body styles are the best desgins ford came out with, I currently have a 97 I like it and it does what I need but I miss the fact the pre-97 f-150 was a 7.5' plow capable vechial, since I don't plow anymor it's not a big deal, but still wish I could but one on without worring about a suspension or frame issue, I still wish they made the f-150 through f-350 on the same chasssis, granted they diddn't have all the features that the 2004 then, but no truck at that time did. the other thing I wish ford would do is bring back an I6 instead of the v-6, the I6 is a much better engine.

Here's some advice- maybe, just maybe, you should glance one over BEFORE ordering! Doesn't make much sense to me. You don't buy a 40k house before walking through it, why do it with a truck. I think your story is bs.

2004 SuperCrew FX4. Handles & rides like a sports car. (when empty). So far I have had about 900 lbs. in the bed & it did o.k. Haven't towed with it yet. Love the interior, the exterior is so so. Still like the 2001 SuperCrew I had better.

I just don't see it!!!

I think you 04 F150 bashers are all nuts!!! Perhaps you have a hidden agenda. These are truly great looking trucks. Ford has built a big, strong, man's truck. These trucks are for men who like trucks!!! And then to top it off... they have a fantastic ride. What else could you want???

If you want a "mans" truck, get a Superduty.

i think the F-150 is just as much a man's truck as a superduty. If you want a truck for your wife, get a Chevy.

One thing I have noticed on all forums, and not just this this one, is if someone doesn't like what another likes, someone gets ugly and offended. Not all like the same thing, thank goodness, I wouldn't want to share my wife, and I sure wouldn't want some of the other wives that I have seen, and some would probably say the same about mine, but I like her looks and thats what is important.

After all it's just sheet metal and plastic. It can't and won't love you back, and will probably leave you stranded and broke trying to keep it up. Come to think about it, it is a lot like a wife.

When I was younger I had strong feelings about my cars like some on here do, but time has evened most of that out.
Back when I was young I tried to get my hands on the chicks all the time. Now about the only chicks I go after are in the colonel's bucket with potatoes and bread.

Funny how time changes things. Ahh, now back to the subject.

I liked the 86 Tarus when it came out. I also liked the 97 F-150 when it came out. This one will just have to grow on me a little while. I have an 87 F-150 4wd that I like the looks of the style, but my brother-in-law does not like the style at all (che*y man), but thats ok with me.

As for a "mans" truck, I have that too. 97 Kenworth 450Hp - 1550 ft.lb. torque

Oh! buy the way.

For those that don't like the looks of the new '04 F150's. I've been getting as high as 23 mpg on the highway and around 18 mpg in town. That's fantastic for a full size any kind of truck.

If you don't like the fenders, don't look closely at the hood. It's made out of aluminum.

Also, after contacting a friend that works at Ford truck division in the Detroit area, he said the sheet metal used on the new '04 trucks is the same gauge thickness since 1987.

Now the negative side as far as I'm concerned. The seats in my new '04 STX are extremely uncomfortable after a long trip.

There are no springs under the seat. Just a steel plate with only about 4" of foam on top.

Sounds to me like you should have looked at more pictures before ordering a vehicle?

You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I appreciate reading dissenting views on the new trucks. I would like to point out that if the thickness of the metal in the new Ford you didn't take is the reason you didn't like it you are in for a difficult time in buying a new truck because they are all built out of the same thickness. As for the rebates, take a look at the bottom line on the price between the GM and Ram, vs the Ford. The GM is a higher priced truck to start with, and they do not offer as much. The Ram may be a tad cheaper in price, but a whole lot cheaper in build quality and long lasting potential. I can guarantee you that you are being told a line of crap at Dave Sinclair, or that you are straight up lying about them only selling one truck. I know better and have been doing business with Dave since 97. Dave Sinclair is not only the top seller in the St.Louis area, he is the top volume dealer in the Central United States. This is a fine dealership where you can buy a vehicle cheaper than most any dealer anywhere. The service department is second to NONE as well. If you don't like the new Fords that is one thing, and you are not alone I am sure, but Ford offers as much and more as any other make on the market. Take a short drive across the JB Bridge to Weber and get your new Chevy and be happy.

Thumbs up

I am on the other end! Just took delivery of my 2004 FX4 SC and it beats my 02 FX4 SC hands down!

The ride is phenominal and the cab is so quiet.

I will trade the buckboard ride for the smoother ride any day.

Crash tests are great too.

It does look different, but it took me about 5 minutes to get used to it.
