99' ext cab 4*4 150, door sticker reads gawr
combined axle #6210 gvwr is #6500
At the transfer station weighed# +/- 6100#
Two medium size pooches, me and wife
Leaving a #400 payload. All that being said,
In the summer, I carry a #1100 wet pop up camper with zero problems.
Is there a built-in fudge factor for trucks from the factory or am I severely over loading the truck.
I know this subject has been beaten to death,
But seems a little wimpy on the gvw.
not to argue with your numbers........... but a LIGHT duty f150 is rated at 1600 payload, and the larger motor/ axle ( still f150) is normally just over 2000 pounds ........... truck should be maybe 4800 pounds which would give you 1700 payload... Im not sure how you got to 6100 pounds with 2 people and 2 dogs and fuel ? I would have guessed 5600 ?
Thanks Steve.. 5.4, original 3:73 9.75 wore out, replaced with 9.75 3:73 expedition same year.
i find it interesting that door stickers don't always make sense.
I also pull a 5k+ TT with all the goodies, not while carrying the camper, but never feeling overloaded.
Oh well.. I'm not concerned as much as curious.
YEA.... I have a super Crew with same engine and 9.75 with the 3.55 .... Very often I have two guys 200# each, two women 150# each and 20 gallons of gas 150#... so that's 850 pounds inside the truck... At the lumber yard I figure if I put 1200 pounds in the bed that is a good load.. Rides great, but probably a few pounds over recommended..... Now TRAILER WEIGHT is something else... These trucks easy pull a 7500 pound trailer ..... a 3000# trailer with a 5000# pickup on top is not uncommon.
One of the things I wanted when I bought this truck was 4wheel discs, so the stopping ability is very good. I have always owned Fords, 150 and 250s and this is the best 150 by far.
Don't know about the new ones but this is all the truck I'll ever need.
I do have two cupholders but no backup camera, maybe when I hit the lottery.

YEP....... both kids have trucks 10 years newer than mine.. All I hear is "buy a newer one"........... I don't want that, like the older body style.... Now if I could find a MINT , RUST FREE , 2003 CREW with 50K miles... IM IN !!
