My 96 F-150 has a problem that I need help with. The Check Engine Light comes on when the outsid temperature is high, with or without the Air being on. It always happens when the fan clutch cuts in and after the engine is up to Normal on the temperature gauge. After several starts the light will go out untill I drive more than 15 miles, and then it comes on again.Everything is ok except the light is on.The Ford garage cannot seem to find a problem with the electronis troubleshooter
Did the Ford dealer tell you what the code was? If you know the code number it would greatly help source your problem. With out it you are flying in the dark as there are so many things that will set the light off. Try to get the codes and post them here for further help.

As someone mentioned, a lot of things can trigger the light to go on. You must have the code. Even then, the code #does not guarantee what the exact problem is. You can disconnect the battery for about 5 min., to reset the PMC. If it still comes on, and the engine is running fine, and average gas mileage, I wouldn't worry about it.
