One of my kids gave me a cheap plastic thing that held 2 cups, some pens, change ect. It just sets on the front seat of my PS and has been in at least 4-5 pickups in the last 12 years.
If you want a newer seat, grab a 90s bench seat and you can have this setup. My 92 flareside had this but it was two cups instead of storage and one cup. Ah here is my cup holder, found a pic. I wonder if you could take the posts and attach them to a 70s bench. I might look into this too when I get that far
These are perfect, kept the holder and bolts/pegs when I got rid of the 95. Not sure if it will bolt into the 78 seat base or not. If it's doesn't I'm going to use another 95 seat. I liked the flip down armrest too.
I’ve heard bad things about the LMC cup holders that replace the ash tray.
I also tried the “lovely female”, but they’re too dang expensive and finicky
The yellow truck came with a console that sits on the transmission hump and had two weighted flaps (ears) that keep it in place. I like it!
I haven’t been able to find any others like that, so I’ve got a couple that hold two drinks, and have a gap between them. They came with Velcro, but it didn’t stick. I perma-mounted the holders just ahead of the bench seat by running a drywall screw thru the cup holder to the floor. And now the seat can’t slide forward, so those with really short legs can’t drive the truck. That’s a plus!
Top-heavy McDonald’s cups will still fall over if you’re not careful, but most cups stay ok. I once dumped my metal CircleK coffee cup, but it was full of iced tea, so it only stained a bit
I'm gonna take the seat out of my '89 wood truck with the flip down arm rest in the middle. Plan on having an upholstery guy put some cup holders in for me
