Wipers wont work

Hello everyone, I Recently bought an old f-250 and have been browsing these forums for quite a few answers that have helped a lot, well now I'm stuck and would like to ask for help so I hope you guys don't mind me asking for help on my first post, anyway...

The wipers won't work on my truck when its running, radio doesn't work also but not what I'm trying to fix RN. The weird thing about it is when I turn the key HalfWAY between RUN and START, the wipers work, just not the squirters. Iv Pulled the switch and checked for continuity so I think I have ruled out the switch except it doesn't have a prong for the squirters so they may be why they don't work. id leave this be but I live in an area that gets lots of rain and I cant drive without them :/

"... when I turn the key HalfWAY between RUN and START, the wipers work ..."

this has me thinking it's the ignition switch. what year is your truck ?

the ignition switch is mounted to the upper side of the steering column, underneath the dash. not uncommon for the plastic and aluminum portions of the case to seperate in their old age. have a look to see if this is so. if not, it could simply be a matter of adjusting the switch upwards on the column; there are oval mounting holes which make this possible.

for the windshield washers, it is quite common for corrosion to develop where the wiring connects to the pump; clean re-connect and give it a go.

I guess mentioning its an 87 would help lol, so the wiper switch is not on the steering column but on the dash.

it ended up being the ignition switch! I bearly poked the thing. And it fell apart, I got it replaces and both the wipers and the radio started up!
