okay guys Ive got a 05 6.0 with 333000 that for quite some time has had long hot start issues till recently it was running in driveway and it just quit I hooked a sct x4 on it and it was showing ipr at 85 percent and icp was around 200 I believe ficm volts showed good so I started by unplugging icp no change then went and threw in the updated stand pipes and dummy plugs and pulled ipr and the screen was messed up cleaned up the ipr and installed new screen and tried to start no go there so I ordered a fitting to go in ipr slot to test with shop air no air out of oil cap or crank case vent then I pulled turbo and hpop cover and tested again can’t feel any air leaking do u guys think it’s the hpop I’ve heard that this style pump rarely fails anyway all input welcome sorry for the run on I’m no typing genius
333k even on that HPOP is pretty good IMO, not saying it's bad but you have eliminated pretty much all else since you tested through the IPR.
IPR maxed out and next to nothing at the ICP tells me it's not making pressure, and you say you don't hear anything.
Just curious thought, do you have base oil pressure from the LPO pump?
Does the needle on the dash jump up about halfway after cranking for a bit?
Just to confirm, you are able to depress the plunger on the IPR valve?
Are u meaning when I had screen off ipr that I could depress inside of it yes it bairly moved before I cleaned it out then it moved a fair amount more afterwards also how would u suggest checking lpop I do believe it’s getting oil because after cranking again from reinstalling ipr there was oil on end of ipr and honestly I didn’t look at guage when cranking
Well I’ve been thinking and I’ve got another pump off a parts truck no clue if it’s good or not but I’m considering making a small block off plate for the turbo oil supply and swapping pumps and seeing if it starts before reinstalling turbo also if it does indeed start a new pump would probably be ordered just hate to order a pump if not nessecary have any of you guys attempted anything like this

Spin both pumps by hand, that might alert if the one in question is binding or feels like it has a tight spot.
How long did you leave the shop air on and what pressure?
Should have been at a min 10 minutes and 120 psi min.
175 psi but I didn’t leave it on there for 10 minutes think I’ll give it another shot here shortly and if resolts are the same guess I’ll swap pumps and see what happenes I’ll post my resolts
OKAY hooked shop air to it again for a good while definitely a small leak around the stc after leaving it on there a good while. Or maybe I just checked it better this time guess I’ll order a updated stc fitting and try that and let u guys know what happens from there
After looking at it and comparing it definitely has the updated stc fitting has anyone had the updated stc fitting fail . Im talking about the tiniest of leaks here which I’m sure it’s a lot bigger when there’s a lot more pressure on it
Okay got a little better scanner to check couple more things better and also got pump swapped still no start and showing 85% ipr and 24psi now on hpop so I’m going with bad hpop at this point does anyone know best place to get one with ipr and stc fitting pre installed for simplicity I’m also probably just gonna call where I get my ford parts holesale at to see what one runs thanks in advance for responses and all advice and I’ll post back results
