I think there are some places that still do yellow cad. There is a subtle difference between zinc dichromate and yellow cad, but I can't recall what it is. I think dichromate is more shiny. I think that Valley Plating there in Van Nuys has the descriptions and options on their website...and, you may be right, the original yellow plating was cadminum. Probably before OSHA came along!! On the other hand, I wasn't really concerned with the original finish, I just wanted a consistent and clean look on all fasteners. I have done some with black oxide in the past but found that they weren't very rust resistant unless you clear coat them. At least 80% of all the hood hinges I have along with hood latch are same yellow zinc.

Windshield is NOS don't want to get it wet . . It's a bit changed under the hood now from that pic. Wanted more HP/TQ so dropped in a 6 cylinder.
