you must have a dually with 14000# GVWR
Your profile didn’t say but I do see your 98yo. How you still driving lol.
Yeah, I need to add a signature. 2017 F350 6.2, CC LB DRW, 14000# GVWR, 3.73 rear end. The guy's comment comparing his Dodge offended me. lol. Just kidding, but when I was looking at SD's before buying, you could easily find SRW F350's with the higher GVWR package carrying more than what was claimed. I guess another factor to consider is I don't have all that extra weight of the diesel either.
*edit* Oh, the birthday thing - yeah, I don't typically enter my real PII in online forums.

cool. Maybe I’ll see you around AK. Hopefully I’ll make it there. currently only planed up to Dawson city.
Specifically SRW. Looked at 2 more today, 3428 and 3407. Just had to check my Ram again. I was wrong. It's actually 3880. That's a loss of 12%, and I'm just trying to understand why the payload ratings are like that. If I'm going to buy a Ford, that's something I have to take into consideration. Sure, it's just a legal number, but I'd like to know where the real difference lies. What I'm now discovering is that it looks like the GVWR of the F-350 vs. my 3500, is different. Max GVWR of the F-350 4x4 is 11,500, while my truck is 12,300. Looks like the F-350 might be about 400lb lighter than my Ram.
The 450 has the wide track and the 350 doesn't. Seems incompatible to me. But I have zero experience doing brakes on a Superduty. It's my first one. I bet Tyler (troverman) knows the answer to this.

True GVWR factors the engine transmission and Suspension based on safety and not necessarily on abilities. As your already aware you can option or buy one that’s been derated. That’s my understanding

Oh my. That's going to be a sweet setup! You've got a couple of things I wish mine had. Namely, the heated steering wheel and the ultimate towing package. I hope you do make it up to Fairbanks this summer - would love to check it out and compare rigs. Different beasts but still lots of similarities. If you're towing something not too crazy large and need to park somewhere for a few days, our house is on 2 acres right off the Parks Hwy, north side of Fairbanks as you roll into town. The road can be bumpy sometimes but it's manageable. Our home is quite humble but I've a 900 sq ft garage, tools if you need to do any repairs, fresh water, etc. A Canadian neighbor who's also a Ford guy would be welcome. If it's something that may end up happening, send me a PM well ahead of time and I'd be happy to go into more detail privately. We'd also be happy to share ideas on good camping spots, fishing, canoeing, etc, for this area, or even meet one of the sweet spots.
