Don't see many "Magma Red" Superdutys", Why? Nice color, Opinions?
It`s a nice and interesting color which is very light dependent to make it look it`s best.
Also, one must view this color in person because again depending on the type of light that`s hitting it, the truck will look brown and I think that`s what turns many people off.

Thats what did if for us, only got to see by other color trucks and varying light. Wife said look, this Ruby Red looks good all the time. So, we bought Rosie the truck and not Magma the what color will it be today! LOL

Ruby Red is a very nice color and totally worth the $495.00 extra cost.
I paid the same $495.00 to get Platinum White on my 2016 F150.
I just had a magma loaner while my truck had some warranty work done. The color in the sun looks really good. But as soon as the clouds come out it looks purplish brown. It was quite ugly not in the sun. In pictures it looks purple to many people as well. I dont see this as being a good color option for ford. I dont know why they ditched the bronze fire that was a nice looking color
I don't like the color at all. As others have said, in bright sunlight it's not terrible, but in all other light it looks too much like fresh dog doo. Ruby Red is where it's at if you like red. I had it on my F-150 with chrome package and I got comments all the damned time. I have Ruby Red on my new F-350 (no chrome package) and I also get comments all the time. I think it's similar to the timeless love for candy apple red.
I just purchased an '18 F250. They had two in stock that were identical with the options but one was Magma and the other Stone Grey. I test drove the Magma truck and liked the color until late in the day in begins to turn into a purplish color as mentioned above. Needless to say I chose the Stone Grey. I dreaded keeping the Magma clean as I live in the desert, also all my other vehicles are a darker color so I decided to change it up a bit.
After reading comments, I have to agree with the issue of the darkness and variation of the "Magmam Red". Also when u do the build it defaults to "Camel" interior, which I am not a fan of. That alone could be a deal breaker. My go to color is the "Magnetic", although, "Ingot Silver" is nice on the XLT, really blends with the chrome nicely. Just so many of them around. Seems like 75% of vehicles I see on the road are Silver.

Well, maybe not 75-percent but you may be dealing with selective perception. There are variations year-to-year, but the stalwart popular colors are white, goldish beige, and silver. This would be for cars and trucks. Greens and blues do well. Other colors are very model-dependent. Yellow works on a sports car, but not many takers in truck yellows. And then there are those "What was I thinking?" colors. Often referred to as "showroom" colors...you know; they look good in the showroom but not so good in the long haul in your driveway. Bright greens and pastels come to mind.

Yes, u are correct on all points, (including my exaggeration). I think that Ruby Red is a beautiful color, just doesn't fit my persona. I am a neutral color guy, love the Silver and Magnetic. Both, my car and F350 are the Magnetic shades. Funny, I'm ordering a '18 F250, Magnetic, keeping the car and F350, (work truck), When my grandson wants to borrow one, I'll say "Yea, OK, take the Gray one".
The Magma Red is a love it or hate it color. My wife loved it and the Caribou, I hated them both on the truck. Not a silver guy typically, but loved the silver and chrome on the new body style. In the end I went with the Ruby Red over my initial first choice, the Magnetic.
To each his own, its yours so you so get what appeals to you. That is why we have choices in vehicle colors and options.
