I dont know much about vehicles at all so I need some help.
While accelerating on highway, going up hill, on ramps, anything when trying to accelerate fast it wont. The rpms go up and it hesitates.
Today while on highway got up to 60 rpm went up to 3500 and it stayed at 60 for a good 30 sec before they dropped and it picked up speed. It shakes and I can smell gas.
i was told it could be coil pack but it iant throwing a code for that.
Any help is appreciated, i just recently had fuel pump and filter replaced.
Probably going to need a little more information. How long have you had this vehicle? V-10? Did it suddenly start acting this way? Was it doing any of this prior to the fuel pump/filter replacement? Do you know when the last time it had plugs and boots replaced? You said it's shaking so I'm assuming the engine is misfiring. Does it do that all the time or only under a heavy load? Like when you're accelerating hard?
I would hook up a code reader and see if any codes are stored. I would check and replace if needed the air filter, spark plugs,
fuel filter, oil etc..... my Excursion had the original plugs at 150K miles. A bad coil pack would cause a shake and you
would notice it. Could just need a tune up.
