AFE Pro Dry S air filter

Does anyone have any experience using the AFE dry filter in their 6.7? I have used K&N for years in everything, but seen these and wondered if they are any better/worse than my old stand-by. There are three of us around the shop with 6.7 but the other guys are still running a paper filter and are worried about putting an oiled filter in even though when properly oiled I have never had MAF issues in either my trucks, cars or motorcycles.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This is old tech, but all I got on this subject - When I had a 7.3, the oiled filters were generally not looked favorably upon by most guys at the dieselstop forum. Many spoke of them not being efficient enough and dusted turbos, etc.
Although I used a K&N hardware setup on that truck, I sold the filter element and sock while it was still unused and went with a Donaldson marine grade paper filter.

I think oem paper filters are usually best, especially at filtering. But a lot of people really love the Pro Dry filter.

How to you like the intake? Have you seen any increase in fuel mileage or seat of the pants feel like some have reported?

Like the OP, I have never had an issue with the K&N oiled elements; i always made sure the oil dried for several hours before reinstalling the filter. I do have a Pro Dry S in my gas 5.4 truck, and really like it. Its just so easy to clean. Most of the time I just shop vac the majority of the dirt off and reinstall immediately. If its really dirty I will simple green it, but then it needs to dry well before installation.

That truck does feel like it gets a little more air through the Pro Dry S than OEM. I'm sure the big 6.7 would breathe better, too.

I had an AFE intake with the Pro-Dry filter on my 2008 F350 with the 6.4 PSD, was really happy with it. I have the S&B sitting in a box in my garage, waiting to go on. I too have never had an issue with either drop-in oiled filters or those in aftermarket intakes. I think it all comes down to the amount of oil you use.

Nothing wrong with old school tech, I can still find a flat cylinder on a engine faster with my infrared thermometer faster than the young guys can plug-in the computer. We use Donaldson filters at the shop, top notch stuff for sure.

Just have to toss this in with regards to paper air filters versus reusable filters.
I see how many filters we toss everyday at the shop, and we are just one of seven across the country serving a fleet of 700 plus tractors and 15,000 trailers. It is ridiculous!
Now, I am no "tree hugger" , but anything I can do to save something of this planet for my grandson, I am all in.
With so many options these days for reusable filters, some good, some bad; it seems to make sense for both the environment and the pocket book. OEM paper filer runs $50 on the low end and the reusable filter drop in at $100 or so.
Just one more thing to consider I guess.
