I need to install a [newer] carseat in the rear of my 2001 F-350 Crew Cab. 2001 was right about when they started requiring a tether point to come factory equipped on vehicles (this coming from my wifes research).
I received part number 6C3Z-26613D74-AA for FREE from the local dealer (I was rather surprised). They had no idea how to install it and it came with no instructions. I asked if I paid for them to install it, who would know what to do? They said they might try to find an old manual somewhere but weren't helpful.
Anyone installed one of these?
Before I start breaking the plastic push in thingys pulling the carpet off, will there be a tapped hole waiting for me? I say a tapped hole because this looks like a machine screw to me.
Yeah. I installed those in my Redneck Limousine. Just peel that tan panel behind the seats off using your fingers then you'll see where the tether bolts to. You'll have to cut a little hole in the panel, then simply bolt it up.
In reading the link (thank you for that), it seems like the program is still in place. The caveat being that you need to find a "participating dealer", I will call the two dealers close to me and see what they say.

So, you're say there's a hole already drilled and tapped once I remove the tan panel? If so, I will probably just do it myself.
I just want it to be easier than replacing the passenger seat belt latch which required the removal of the whole seat since my torx bit wouldn't fit in there.
Here in Canada, these tether anchors, just like seat belt extenders, are mandated by law to be supplied by FoMoCo (and all vehicle manufacturers)... with no program expiration date. They are considered requisite safety gear when required. Not sure on the installation responsibilities/costs for the tethers though ...
Woa, just so I got this right, my 2016 CC which I found out after buying it that it has no kid seat anchors can be retrofitted with them by a Ford Dealer? I looked for this info when I got the truck. I have been using the seat belt to hold my 3 year old's car seat in but i really would prefer using anchors.

Where are you from? Like I said above, where I'm from, FoMoCo must supply the anchors/tethers free of charge. I found 1 anchor in the glove box when I bought my 2001 truck used 4 years ago. I do not know if the car companies are obligated to install the tethers too or simply supply them. That you would have to ask FoMoCo directly.

Top tether anchor for the top tether strap yes.
Lower anchors to replace the seat belt no
They are used together but are separate things in this case.

Yes, what Brandon said.
Top anchor, YES. the lower clip in anchors, NO, you still have to use the seatbelt for the lower anchors.
This all came up because we finally flipped my daughter from rear facing to forward facing. Using the seat belt rear favoring doesn't require a top anchor, just the seat belt.
I need to install one of these in my 99 extra cab F250. Does it come with a washer and nut? Or how does it mount to the cab? Is there already are nut in the cab?
Just take it to the dealership, Sean. They (Ford) are required by law to supply & install it. The dealership will supply the part(s), do the work, & get paid by Ford.
Back from the dead!! I tried to install these on my 01 f250 today and there is no tapped hole for them. Same part number as in the picture. Guess I will have to find a nut that fits this bolt.
