99 f250 7.3 new batteries new terminals starter was bad bought new starter still nothing from key. Jumped it on the two big bolts on the starter relay on the fender and it turned the motor slowly . Checked batteries all good tried again and now it does nothing what so ever so no power going to ignition wire on relay and if I jump the two on it nothing .. Help plz
battery cables are bolted to things... so rust and corrosion at that point..... even dirt/rust on threads and inserts will stop all that power..
I checked batteries they were both 95%+ and I've got new ends on the batteries no corrosion or loosness there ran two new grounds from the frame to body but idk about the grounds on engine look fine at glance and Idk how to trace the power wire from the relay to the starter to make sure it's not touching or anything gonna try to look at it all when rains gone.. glad to know it's a power supply/ground was worried something more.. also why would the ignition wire have no power could that be related or I was thinking just neutral safety switch on that
They look normal I pulled on them alittle didn't feel any stretching or anything didn't want to go cutting plastic off them yet .. I'd say their good though because theirs power at the relay
Ok new starter redid ground wires fired right up.. next two problems it dies as soon as I stop spraying starter fluid truck has sit for God know how long where should I start. Was going to have someone turn key and see if I hear fuel pump any other recommendations would be appreciated
Stop with the starting fluid on the 7.3... Check the glow plug relay and make sure it is working as it should. Make sure all of the glow plugs are working. Pull the fuel filter out and take a look at the fuel in the bowl. If it's been sitting for a long time there is a good chance the fuel is no good.

Ryan...stop using starter fluid! You have a problem don't make it worse. The fuel pump is under the driver side frame rail, turn key on, crawl under truck and listen for it. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? The fuel bowl has a drain with a valve on the back side of it. You'll see a 3/8 tube run down towards passenger side, slip a 3/8 hose on it, open valve and turn key on....how strong is the fuel flow? How old and what is your oil level? Let's start there...
