So I got my 2018 couple weeks ago did bed rug, Retrax MX Pro, husky floor mats and then did Icon coils and fox shocks all the way around to level out the truck. My opinion is it rides a lot better a friend with a identical truck was wanting to go a little bigger than my truck but not a 6". I am no big expert nor do I know alot about lifting trucks, but he has a redilift level 2.5 "Puck" (thats what I call it) so we where talking and he things another 2" would satisfy him. I suggested to just install some +2.5 coils and shocks on top of the pucks he already has and that would give him 5" of lift. What do yall think?
Correct me if I’m wrong but if you have to buy a set of front springs that are 2” longer why not just buy the correct lenght spring for the lift he wants, 4” or 6”? I don’t see a cost savings. He’s going to have to buy new springs for the rear to match the height of the front and shocks too. He might as well just get a kit for the height he wants.

He bought the truck with the 2.5 ready lift level on it already he wanted to go up 2 more inches and I just sugested he get coils to add on top of his already installed 2.5" level
Your buddy will have to do more than just install a set of front springs and call it a day if he wants a 4 - 6” lift. I agree that there is nothing wrong with a puck for a leveling kit but if your going bigger than that I would ditch the pucks and just install the correct springs. He will have to buy new springs either way. He will have to buy a bunch of parts to accomplish a 4 - 6” lift.
He'll need brake lines, bump drops, sway bar links, radius arm drops, maybe a carrier bearing drop, new track bar or bracket...its def not as easy as just chucking a bigger coil in there.
