Not an EX, but its my wifes 2007 expedition with a 5.4 You guys over here are alot more responsive. I had to change out the vct and had to pull the value cover off to do it. 2006 and back dont have to (ford engineers uugghhh). anyways got it changed and all put back together qnd took for a test drive. It is running alot better.
The problem come in when I go to check and make sure there are no leaks, sure enough there is one. So I check all the bolts for the cover and the one on the bottom next to the fire wall right above the header will not tighten down. Pull it back and to look at it and it has metal shavings on it. The hole in the head is stripped out. was going to use a helicoil to fix nut there is hardly enough room to put a socket in there let alone try and drill and tap it for the helicoil. What can I do to fix it.
not enough room to get the drill and tap in. That is why I cant use helicoil. Was thinking a about trying an M7 bolt and see if it would cut new threads. The current bolt is a M6
