Gear Ratio
I have just purchased a 1993 F150 300 ci straight six auto, I'm going to use it to pull my bass boat to the lake. The axel code is "18" so it appears it's 3.08 ratio and the trans is an "E", 3-speed overdrive. My thinking is since it will be a short haul vehicle (and I don't care about mileage) I might want to change the gear ratio to get a little better pulling power on the hills around my home. Any info. or thoughts on the subject would be welcome.

a 3.55 would probablybe fine. And if you chose that, you may be able to find a whole rearend in the junkyard to swap and make the job easier.
