Courtesy Wipe

On my 2011 Ford Explorer, I cannot get the Courtesy Wipe to stop even after putting it on Off in Settings. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks.

You sure it is the courtesy wipe? If you use the wipers, do they turn off? Your multi-function switch might be bad. It is a common problem for them to go bad.

Yes; the wipers work fine otherwise. If no other solution, I will have to take the vehicle into the Ford dealership to have the multi-function switch checked. Thanks.

Is it random or reproducible? If it hasn't been doing it for the past seven years, my guess is the switch as well instead of firmware. My 2011 super duty did this at random when turning the key to run prior to starting when new with the setting to off. The first several times I just assumed I was losing my mind and somehow accidentally turning on the switch (Ford's suggestion) until I started keeping up with it. Eventually the issue went away most likely with a BCM firmware update because at the time I was taking it in to get TCM updates a lot due to transmission shifting issues with the early 6R140 builds.
