Sorry F N G question for you guys and sorry to OP not trying to hijack the thread. I just measured my hitch and it's 2.5". Is this possible for a 17 350 6.7? I am measuring the inside diameter of the hitch and am only able to find one adapter sleeve that was given to me.
Thanks
Yes, starting for Job 2 in 2017, the short bed 6.7 SRW 350's got the 2.5" receiver. The long bed's still get the 3" though.

Does anyone know the pin size for the 3" receiver? There seems to be a 5/8" or 3/4" option. Dealer doesn't know by the vin. 2017 F-350 DRW Long Bed 4x4. Thank you in advance.

Still a 5/8 pin diameter (just a little longer than normal). Still has to fit through the "older"/smaller/normal 2" draw bars, which are 5/8".
Can you elaborate on your bad experience using a B&W adjustable hitch?
Hauling a load of 8500 pounds bent the B&W - they look pretty, but not as stout as they claim. I called them and spoke to them about it as well as their testing. Got nowhere. So, I did some research and found out about Gen-Y and spoke to the owner about their hitches and gavie it a shot - never looked back. When you see them side by side, the Gen-Y is made for a SuperDuty!
Curt makes a stout hitch. This one is a 2” that survived a hit that almost broke the factory receiver in half. It now gets used around the farm just to be safe and not run it on the open road but no bends or broken welds. Will be ordering the 2.5” and using a reducer for my new truck.
Have been usingthe weigh safe 3" receiver now for couple weeks. So far so good. Didn't get the scales as I have been loading trailers for 30 years and can figure that part out. Also now have a dually and weight is really not a problem. Have had a couple comments on how nice the hitch looks
2018 6.7 F350 long bed Supercab here. Just measured mine, 2.5 inch, with a sleeve that reduces to 2 inch. Build website always referenced a 2.5 inch receiver, never saw a 3 inch available at any time. Did not build a 450 or a dually, don't know what they came with.
