I think this is Denny's (First Ride) non stock truck.
Yes that is"Art " because it i s a work of art . Mufflers inside of tubes at the front where they meet the L bend . You only burn the back of your leg once & that was done yrs ago when a set like these were on a '74 Dodge ISCA show van .Notice the show tubes which were 4" then . The set on "Art.are 3 1/2 "
Love that crushed orange velvet! And do I see a Playboy Bunny logo on her sash?
This was early in '83 at the ISCA World of Wheels car show in Ft.Pierce ,Fla. '74 Dodge van w/a balance & blueprinted '71 340 built to Direct Connection specs .Put out around 400 H.P. Fairbanks racing 727 trans w/ a 3k stall converter . Tons of chrome , pan , trans pan drive shaft , freeze plugs & etc. . Paint was '71 hemi iridescent orange , gold pearl w/ candy apple tangerine flames , more gold pearl & 7 coats of clear . It was BRIGHT ! Interior was 26 yards of orange crushed velvet w/ 1382 buttons ( all real ) Inquired at a local custom auto upholstery shop about them doing the interior . They said we have never done anything like that as to which I replied neither have I . The owner then directed me to the button making machine & said have at it ! So I did.
The van was undefeated in '83 & '84 Fla ISCA competition
Yes , that is Candy Loving 25th anniv. playboy playmate at the show. She was the only person to ever sit on the uncovered pass. seat velvet and yes she could out party you . I knew that for a fact .
We have discussed this van on here before. That was yours?!!!
Nothing screams 70's like that van. Do you know what ever happened to it?
Traded it in on a custom full optioned '93 Dodge Dakota . Never seen it again but if I did would most likely be sick to my stomach . It is not on the road in Fla. as I check every yr. at license renewal time .
I got my side pipes mounted and hooked up to the hedders. I temporary mounted the running boards and next I am going to wire it up just enough to start it and check out the new c4 and bleed the power steering so I can move it around. I will next insulate the cab and put the new wiring harness in and finish the body work on the cab. I want to hear it running again so I can stop playing the video of it on the dyno machine.
