Rear Wiper Fix - Need DIY ideas

wiper blade only touches about 2/3 on the rear window hatch. Especially mid-arc.

is there a DIY to fix this so the whole wiper arm touches through-out full arc?

Confirm you have the correct size blade on it. I stuck a larger one on mine and it did the same thing.

16" blade

It seems that the spring tension is off. When I searched I just found reference to a tired spring. Will buy new if needed, hoping not

Find a wiper tension gauge and check.

This may have some answers as well. I think I went to a 14" rear to solve my inconsistent wiping action. I may try the nub removal trick in the thread.

I have had to tweak (bend) wiper arms on other vehicles to get enough tension for the wiper to wipe well. I think this would be the cheapest way.
