door handles

I have a Black 2018 xlt with the value pkg coming... can anyone suggest the best way to get body matched door handles? I had read the handle covers pop off but what about the rest of the handle? is it not that flat black color?

do I buy brand new handles assemblies from the dealer?.. or have a body shop paint my existing handles?..

The handle covers pop right off. I took my chrome ones off and had my local paint shop paint over them. Zero issues at all.

any pics of the finished product? How much did they charge?

What about those of us with the black value pkg handles? Can those be painted? What about the rest of the handle assembly?

You need to buy the whole handle, you can get them from Ford in a PTM version (paint to match). Make sure you get the driver's door lock version and not the push button keyless one.

Sorry, I didn't realize that the inner handle of yours were not color matched already... I do have a set of brand new in box front paint match ready handles if you need to buy some. I only have the fronts since I forgot to go back to the dealer and pickup the rears... Long story...

I don't want to break mine. I started doing it and you can pull one clip up over the latch and thats as far as I went......are you saying just pry it off form that point?

I have 2016 shadow black painted F150 XLT handles that I am looking to trade for chrome. I think the Superduty and F150 handles covers can be swapped. Can anyone confirm that?
