I have all the flooring ripped up, going to load the rest of it up in the truck Saturday morning and take it to the dump. Going to start varnishing the cedar wainscotting tomorrow morning and try and get that done before any of the material arrives..

And, of course, I didn't!! Too damn busy today. Getting tough to do much slacking, only being 3 of us left in the shop. And, me with all of this stupid paperwork. I have apprentice evaluations due next week on my guys, so, trying to get those written up today. Fun stuff. Though, I did manage to take a quick walk outside, and man, is it nice out!
Oh, but he is here, Bud! Good morning guys, happy Friday! Busy day today. Doctor appt. to get my damn sinus infection taken care of this morning, gotta take the wifes Explorer in to get estimates for a new windhsheild, and maybe do some yard cleanup.
On a side note, after almost a year of fighting the insurance company, they have finally agreed to replace our roof! Goodbye wooden shingles! Hallelujah!
Morning Neil! Must have had a rock hit sometime last fall, it’s cracked all the way across from the passenger side. Yeah, I’m so damn relieved about this roof. They have fought us tooth and nail. Every roofer that has seen it says it should be replaced. I guess State Farm fights against replacing shake shingle roofs. We may be shopping for new insurance after this is all said and done, I’m not very happy with them.
I have a very little chip out of the windshield on the passenger side of the 150. I think that it may have actually been there when I bought it, but it is very hard to see it.
I have no experience with State Farm but I have heard others mention that they are hard to deal with. We are with a small company here in NY and did have a homeowners claim through them about 12 years ago. Snow would build up in the transition from the porch & main roofs on the north side. Heat would escape causing an ice damn, then it would leak right into the bedroom. We ended up having to re-roof the entire front side along with replacing the carpet and sanding the wet marks from the walls. It was a pain, but I did all of the work except for the roof. Insurance covered the repairs and I did not have to fight them.
Can't believe that people don't have zero deduct on glass..... it's sooooo cheap. My comp is zero deduct. Then they come to me and change any glass that needs it.
