I am about to start, for the first time, the new rebuild. My Daughter poured, I hope, 6 quarts of break in oil into it a couple of months ago. We have lost the engine oil dipstick. I can't imagine why, you should see my garage. I gave up and bought a new one from Bronco Graveyard. After all, they have several thousand of my $$'s. They charged me for it and promptly put it on back order. That was in December, 2017. I never got it and they no longer show it in their catalog. I have tried in vain, via email, to get an answer as to what happened to my $$. I must get the time to call, although previous calls have not been very encouraging. Now I need a dipstick. Anyone out there willing to sell me theirs.

What year truck are you working on, is it 2WD or 4WD?
In another thread, you said your daughter has a 1978 F150 4WD
Yes, 1978 F150 4x4 351M with the dipstick on the driver side, rear sump. I have installed the screw in tube, bent it around the headers, but the dipstick itself has disappeared.
Forgive my lack of describing the issue. My wife deals with it all the time. I get something straight in my head and expect everyone to know what I am thinking. You will see that in previous posts. I vow to do better. Thanks

JBG pulled the same kinda crap on me when I ordered a spindle in Dec. After a week I called to get a status and they told me it was on back order and I should have it in 30 days. I asked why didn't they email or call me and tell me that. No answer there. I cancelled my order and shopped somewhere else. Come to think of it, they did the same when I ordered door seals last summer. Do they not have an inventory or something?

I don't know diddly about how JBG operates, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they use the same method as LMC does.
LMC is a "middle-man" operation, they use the J. Paul Getty method of making a buck. Despite all the parts listed in their catalogs, they have very little of it in their inventory.
So, when you order parts, they use your money to buy the parts elsewhere, from other repro parts sellers, auto parts stores and a local Ford dealer (if the parts are still available).
Coupla years ago, a member bought a 1975/77 F100/350/Econoline Speed Control steering wheel and horn pad from LMC
When the parts arrived, they were in Dennis Carpenter boxes. Other members have reported buying weatherstrips from LMC, these too are in Carpenters packaging.
JBG did respond to my email, after I posted my complaints here. I did purchase window seals from Dennis Carpenter. I read NumberDummy's post about DC having one D7TZ-6750-A.I have a call in to them. thanks
Well, Dennis Carpenters never bothered to call me and still haven't found the dipstick. D-Rat, how about stopping by some Saturday and let me use your dipstick for a minute. I must check the oil before I fire this new engine.
My daughter soldered the wiring for the door speakers and the parking lights today. Then installed the wheel well chrome before she had social duties. Left the old man to continue putting the dash together.
well, the 351M will be started for the first time on Saturday morning. My daughter swears she poured 6 quarts of break in oil into the beast.
I stuck a wire into the dipstick tube, There is oil down there. Without a dipstick i am unsure. So i will drain the pan, measure the oil and pour it back in.
I had previously ran a drill into the oil pump and brought up the oil pressure.
I am hoping to catch D-Rat going by and get him to stick his dipstick into it. That sounds a little obscene but D-Rat can have his way with it.
We have exhausted the search for a dipstick except the one on Ebay for $75.00.
Daughters 19th birthday is the 4th week in July, I planned on this Ford to be on the road by then. well it will be close, without a windshield.
