351M dipstick
You had given me this info previously. Upon calls to them, I was told they had no such item. I have purchased an untold amount of $$ at Dennis Carpenter (I am afraid to add it up)
. I just now called them again. I was told that they have no such item. Upon my argument, they "looked" again and found one. I gave a CC and it will be sent shortly. $35.00.BUT, I was told that they might call me to say they do not have one. ??????
Thanks much. I will try McDonald if DC fails me.

Ask for Tom, he works the parts counter and is an ex-Ford parts guy.I was there in 2004, planning to spend no more than 500 bucks. 3 hours later, walked out with a box of NOS parts, $3,000.00 lighter.
Side note - with the junk quality of the last few LMC things I've gotten, I'm a little shocked that they'd get anything from Dennis Carpenter...…..not sure who that's a compliment or insult to...…..
We fired the 351M Saturday. it started by turning the key to ON. It fired and ran for 20 seconds before we got the Battery cable disconnected. Ran down to Auto Zone (only because it is 1 mile away) and got a new ignition switch. After removing the old switch I plugged in the new one, leaving it dangling. Dead, nothing. Plugged the old one back in, dead, nothing.
The temperature was 100+ with high humidly so we gave up and pushed it back into the garage.
I guess I am still chasing that short, thought I had that solved. I will remove the Instrument cluster for the 29th time. Wish me luck
The dipstick is 24.25 inches from tip to bottom of grip and is 28 inches in total length.
By the way, anyone who can find the rear sump 4x4 pan for the 351M/400 at a junkyard be sure to grab it! You can not find these anywhere except for aftermarket with larger capacity requiring a new pickup also and the price is around $500 for parts. You could make good money on eBay or share it with FTE members who might need it. I know because my drain bolt threads cracked into about 6 peices (it's a thick threaded washer welded onto the inside of the pan and is not friendly to accepting oversize drainbolts) but I was able to weld a grade 8 nut to the outside of the pan and make it work.

D7TZ-6750-A .. 351M/400 Engine Oil Dipstick is the number that NumberDummy posted and is the number I have been chasing. I wonder what that number is that you have?
If you don't mind, could you give me a measurement from the tip of the dipstick to the full mark. With the measurements you gave I will use a brass welding rod for a dipstick. I will wait until NumberDummy chimes in with the data on your dipstick, then I will chase that number, see what I come up with.
I just so happen to have an oil pan on a 351/400 on an engine stand. Maybe someone needs to make a trade for a dipstick.
I spent the afternoon installing U-joints into the right front drive axle because my Brother destroyed the original long axle by using the press. $100.00+ later, Denny's Driveshaft sent me the new one. I will put it back together tomorrow. Hope to try to start the beast also.
Had a kid come over and install a new windshield and install the original sliding rear window. I had all the new rubber from Dennis Carpenter
the oil dipstick goes and it’s a 78 f250 4x4
