Working on my 69 F350 replacing the cab mount bushings, the cab slid out of position as I was working on an incline. Long 2x10 to the rescue, I was able to lever up the cab and finally get the DS front aligned. Problem was, any future adjustment to get the PS aligned would screw up the DS. Old man stash to the rescue. Fabbed two simple alignment pins from the following: (2) two inch lengths of 1/2 inch copper pipe. This fits the ID of the bushing perfectly; (2) 1/2 inch copper caps keeps the copper pipe from just falling through; and (2) 1/2 inch Pex Crimp bands which fit the hole in the cab mount sheet metal perfectly and slide equally well on the copper pipe. Got them both in and did a little fine side to side so the pins weren't bound by the cab, and it was aligned. Just put the parts together. No need to solder. Keep the PEX crimp loose if you decide to solder the cap on. Makes it fall into place easier. Also the pin will show what direction the cab needs to be shoved next. One more item off the list to getting road worthy again. Here are the components of one alignment pin. Assembled alignment pin. Cab mount aligned!
