Sun visor decal removal

Has anyone removed the decals from the cloth sun visor? I cant stand them. They seem pretty tightly stuck on and im afraid to pull ans tear the cloth. Has anyone removed them?

To build a new vehicle, they start with those stickers and then grow the fabric around them, assembling the vehicle around the visor. It is easier to split an atom than pull those decals off.
I recommend pulling the whole visor off and either sewing a new cover or have an upholstery shop make a new one.

I'm waiting for the weather to warm up, then going to try the heat gun method on the passenger side. That way I won't have to look at it when I screw it up.

Look for sun visor decal covers if you don’t have luck removing the decal.

Well, maybe not impossible, but this video appears labor intensive. I'm not gonna' try it.

I removed mine on one side and quit. It appears they are "iron-on" or heat applied, not really decals. It leave residue behind when removed, and I have found anything yet that removes the residue completely.

I removed mine on my drivers side. It happened to be on a visor with the Homelink garage door opener that I had got from the salvage yard. It was a non-matching color so I figured I had nothing to lose...

Well, they came off with the heat gun. But left a residue, as mentioned above. It also made the fabric stretch out and it never fully recovered back to bieng tight. To make matters worse, I tried painting it with some SEM vinyl and fabric paint and that seemed to make the fabric stiff now. So it is now saggy, but stiff and even worse the color still doesn't match!!! Grrrr! But hey, I have Homelink working in my ugly non-matching visor!

I removed one of those stickers on a previous truck as it had begun to peel a bit.

I won't try that again.
It would have been better to glue the peeling part back up.

Maybe you could cover it up with one of those visor organizers. You know, the kind we used to keep our CD’s in when CD’s were still a thing.
