Toyota Front end?

Hi guys.

picking up a '56 soon. Seller advises it has a Toyota Hilux Front end in it. However, doesn't know what year, etc. As far as I can tell Hiluxes didnt't come out with a coil spring front end until mid 90's. 89-96 SR5's had front springs, but really have no idea.
It's gonna be fun hunting down parts for this thing. Also, looks like it's just been tack welded on. That might not be a bad thing, especially if I decide to go Right hand drive Jag once more.

That front end cross member looks like it's been cut and widened ?
I think you would be better off just ripping it out and using a jag f/e .
Any more pics of the old girl ?

Here's a photo of Big Bird

Someone called her Big Bird. I think the name's gonna stick.

Still waiting to get her picked up. Any day now

I don't like the looks of that front end, looks very butchered. Was it even licensed for the road and pass an inspection..? That oil pan almost looks like it's resting on the cross member too

Yeah, not the best looking front end I have seen, John. Looks like it is tack welded in there. Makes it easy if that's the case. I detect another jag front project coming on
