Not sure if it'll work, or what you're trying to accomplish, but this cable and software has worked great and it's less than a third of the price of the zr11. I use it with forscan and torque and it's done everything I've needed it to so far. You can get a sub adapter for your phone (if you have android) and use it with that too. I use my phone, tablet, and laptop depending on where I'm at. The software it comes with is ok, but forscan is better

Afmedic - I do have an android phone but I am roadkill with tech stuff. I will give it a try though& see how that works though. I am having no specific problem presently but wanting to be prepared for some traveling in the future,Thanks for the help
I keep my cord in my backpack that I take everywhere with an adapter to plug in to my phone, or I can use my tablet. It's saved my rear a couple times now, and it's cheap! There's lots of good info on here for torque and forscan. I think it's Tugly that has links in his signature.

Sounds good, I'll check out Tugly's threads on that. Will probly have numerous questions as to how to do this in the future if you all dont mind. Thanks much
I have one of those Harbor Freight scanners and it will pull codes but that is about it, since our trucks aren't a true obd2 there are many scanners that don't work very good with them, the Harbor Freight scanner has worked well for every other vehicle I have used it with. The best think you can do is download the free Forscan software on a laptop and get an obd2 to usb adapter to plug it in, that will do about anything, including injector buzz and cylinder contribution tests, and you can read any sensor.

Thank y'all for the information contained within this thread. Good read, all of it.
After weighing the options I decided to go with the AutoEnginuity Total Ford Scan Tool Package Enhanced Bundle SP03. Bought it from Riff Raff this morning, after receiving the 411 from a tech support rep yesterday. It is reported to work for my 7.3L and also for my CVPIs, so this was the best option for me. I was also glad to see that there isn't a license key involved, so you can install it on whatever laptop you'd like. I specifically inquired about that product aspect because I plan to upgrade my laptop sometime during the summer and didn't want to have to deal with getting a new key, new PITA install, etc.
