Forscan works great. I just used it last night to read my TPMS pressures. I was playing around with it some and read some PCM engine parameters, as well. I need to use it more often to be more proficient with it. I have used there extended license to make SCCM changes. It's all pretty easy to do. 
I recommend getting the "cable version" DLC connector. It has a MS-HS CAN switch and offers faster connection speeds for better communication. This is the one I have and others have used. There is a WIFI version, but I don't have any experience with it. I use the Torque app on my phone; with a Bluetooth dongle. They are fairly cheap and keep one in two of our vehicles.
